There are 6 rules when its comes to a good Logo. Simple, Memorable, Timeless, Versatile, Appropriate & Colour. If you get these right you’ve got a good Logo. The logo is the face of any brand and the very first impression, so its design is extremely important.
Simple – A simple design makes it easier for a viewer to recognise.
A complicated logo is not only difficult to identify but also repeatedly fails in engaging the audience. A logo is an emblem, not a manifesto. Thus, it needs to be kept simple.
Memorable – An effective logo design should be memorable and this is achieved by having a simple, yet, appropriate logo. Looking at what the successful companies are doing is a good starting point as they would have spent a lot of time creating their logo and would have spent millions to get something that will work.
Timeless – An effective logo should be timeless – that is, it will endure the ages. Fashions come and go but elegance stays. A lot of the times it’s just the font that may make something old-fashioned and just needs a tweak to keep a logo looking modern.
Versatile – An effective logo should be able to work across a variety of mediums and applications. Scalability is something you need to think about as you will see your logo on many platforms from BillBoards to Apps on mobile phones. It needs to be able to work small or large.
Colour – Do Not Underestimate Color In Your Logo Design. The logo should obviously have an attractive colour for the Logo should be able to stand out on its own without the colour. The colour also needs to be able to print well and look good online.
