If you have an active interest in the Internet and an interest in engaging with potential customers, you would have thought, do I need a Blog?
You may think how on earth would someone want to follow me/us or will you be competing against an already saturated market, what’s the point?
Well, my view is, why not try! It’s not like the old days when getting a website set up would cost millions of pounds, and you may be surprised. People may find your opinion interesting, even with the dryest of subjects. You may be able to make the subject more enjoyable to understand or help to make sense of complicated matters.
Some inspiring points:
1) Your blog fuels SEO. Search engines love valuable content and will reward you for it.
2) 60% of businesses who blog acquire more customers, according to a HubSpot survey.
3) It creates free PR. Journalists often interview business bloggers as industry experts. Get some press!
4) Writing a blog shares your expertise. How else will you position yourself as a subject area expert and thought leader?
If you’re not sure whether you’ll keep it up, then start writing regularly for a few months and see how it goes. Whether it’s once a week, or once a month keeps a schedule and stick to it. If it doesn’t work out for you, take down the blog and invest your energy elsewhere.
